You may have noticed that this blog has become a little ... what's the word I'm looking for... Oh yeah! the word is "pathetic". See, here's how it is: this blog has a few "regulars" that visit every now and then, and the rest of the visits are from people looking for things like "polk county nekkid women", "naked grandparents", "drunk moms", and stuff like that. And actually some of the regulars, I've noticed, are hitting the site by using "naked grandparents" as a Google search. Last time I checked, I was #3 for "naked grandparents" on Google. And as far as I know, there are no naked grandparent pictures or videos on this site. One thing I do know is that there are people out there that really want to see naked grandparents, so for any of you who qualify, there is a need to be filled. Come to think of it, I do have a picture of my older brother in his underwear...but I digress.
What I'm saying here is that while this blog may seem to have turned into a parody of itself, which is a parody of itself anyway, and really just a vehicle to raise awareness about mail-order Russian women, we do have a redeeming quality or two.
Which brings me to the "Keep the Fish" campaign. This is a truly noble cause and I am proud to be associated with it. The brief synopsis is that Herb Quintero, the owner of a Clearwater bait and tackle shop called "The Complete Angler", had a mural painted on the shop's exterior wall. The mural is a painting of various gamefish, and for whatever crazy reason Clearwater officials decided that the painting violates a city ordinance that prohibits "double signage". Basically, because the mural is a painting of various fish, and the store is for people who fish, Herb is covertly advertising his business twice. He has a sign, and there are also pictures of fish on the wall. Hence, "double signage", which costs about $138 a day in fines. I devoted half of a post to the story in early January. Then, to be honest, I pretty much forgot about it.
Last week I started to notice references from keepthefish.com in my log files. I checked it out and discovered a huge story full of fighting city hall, coverups, unfair stupid behavior by Clearwater city officials, Glenn Beck, and a bunch of other exciting components. The bad thing is that I probably wouldn't have found out about this if it weren't for a link to WIBGTH that was on the page. The local papers are devoting the bulk of their resources to the latest exploits of the lingerie football league and constant updates on the status of the new IKEA that is coming to town.
So check out the keepthefish site and get involved!! Do whatever you can to support this battle!! I'll be sharing some more parts of the story in upcoming posts. I kind of like this activist thing.
