I had no idea that a person could make a living as a "Sexual Assault Speaker". But apparently, a guy named Mark C. Dawson is doing so. His website describes him as "an expert on leadership,
communication, safe dating, healthy relationships,
and sexual assault awareness, prevention and education".
He makes good use of his first name - one of his main catch phrases "let mark help you make yours". He also has a little feature called "the quotation mark of the week". This week it's something about the best opportunity being your opportunity, or some such nonsensical drivel. So the guy seems to be some kind of motivational speaker, with the sexual assault theme going on. Anyway, he's an expert.
So now on to the Lingerie Football League. It's a real football league, where the players are all hot chicks wearing lingerie. And Tampa has a team called the Breeze. I honestly had no idea that any of this stuff existed.
They are playing a game on the same day as the Superbowl, so you have options this season. Now the connection between the sexual assault motivational speaker and the football league where they all play in their underwear is this chick named Melissa Perry. Melissa plays linebacker for the Tampa Breeze. She's a rookie, so her stats are not available.
So this Mark guy started dating the football player earlier this fall. And being a sexual assault expert on healthy relationships, he did the obvious thing. He took naked pictures of Melissa and posted them on Myspace, but waited until they had broken up. Posting the pics while they were still dating would have probably been unhealthy for the relationship.
Melissa found out about the pics from a friend, and confronted sexual assault expert Mark. He showed her the pictures on his phone, she grabbed it from his hands and smashed it to bits. This made Mark angry, not because he had lost the pics - he had downloaded all of them to his computer, but because the phone had (allegedly) costed him $500. Now Mark is a professional, so he knew that he would get nowhere dealing with this immature Melissa chick, and he wanted a new phone.
So he emailed Melissa's mother. He told her in the email that if he didn't get $500 from somebody, he would "go public" with the pics. Apparently he tried to sell them to the Tampa Breeze and who knows else without success. So he posted them on Myspace.
Now Melissa is suing Mark. Mark is totally shocked by this turn of events. He maintains that Melissa wanted him to post the pictures for all the public to see. And besides, he could have had Melissa arrested, but took the high road instead.
