These two kids are just so mischevious. They opened a bank account with $100, got some starter checks, and went to Courtey Mercedes Benz in Tampa and bought two brand new cars. Each car had a MSRP of about 90 grand. Robertus Petrus Kosman and Asher L. Webb drove off the dealership lot in brand new, shiny cars, paid for with starter checks that they got from the bank where they opened their $100 account.
The next day the folks at Courtey Mercedes Benz noticed that, puzzling as it seems, the starter checks were returned due to insufficient funds. However, the Courtey people are a trusting bunch, so when Robertus and Asher returned with a totally real looking document that showed that 44 million dollars was on it's way from Hawaii, they said "Oh, good. Soon we will receive payment in full for the two automobiles. Then Mr. Courtey will not look so worried anymore. I hate it when Mr. Courtey has that worried fretful look on his face."
But a couple of days later the money still had not arrived. And soon the Courtey Mercedes people came to the realization that the money probably would never arrive. An aura of disappointment hung in the air. The Mercedes salespeople reacted first with denial, then with anger, and then regret, and finally with resignation. And somewhere in there one of them called the cops. And the two young men were arrested and taken to jail.
