NEW PORT RITCHEY -
On May 2nd at about 4:30 in the afternoon, some people who worked at a doctors office found a plastic bag outside their office. There was a terrible stench in the air. One of the more brave members of the staff finally checked it out and found a dead baby inside. They called paramedics, who arrived and confirmed that yes, we've got a dead baby in a plastic bag here. Nothing we can do at this point, the parametics figured, time to call the police.
The police come. Not just a couple of officers - no, the cavalry arrived. 15 members of the New Port Ritchie police force arrived. They carefully commenced to isolating the crime scene, sifting the area for clues, all the stuff cops do when there is a dead baby in a plastic bag.
As the sun began to set, an astute member of the NPRPD took a closer look and found that the baby in the bag was a baby possum. After a brief meeting, the cops decided that a dead baby possum in a bag was not such a big deal. They informed the crowd that had gathered that the thing in the bag was "just a possum", wrapped up their yellow crime scene tape, and headed back to the station.
